Chesser, Lester Jr., 91, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Glenpool, OK. He was born February 25, 1932 in Chandler, AZ to Lester Chesser and Anna Jewell Gibson. He grew up in NW Arkansas where he met the love of his life, Billie Ann Porter. They married on September 14, 1951 and moved to Tulsa, OK. Lester went to work right away as an auto mechanic at McCartney Auto Service. He spent 13 years there before opening his own business, Chesser Auto Service in July of 1965. After retiring in 2008, his son Ben took over the business and Chesser Auto Service will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025. Lester and Billie Ann raised four children, Debbie, Ben, Tonya and Sammy. Lester worked long hours but never missed an opportunity to spend time with his children on the weekends camping, swimming and water skiing at Broken Bow or Lake Tenkiller. An occasional trip to Six Flags or Silver Dollar City was always a big hit with the kids. Lester was an avid sportsman and Turkey hunting was probably his favorite. He was a pro at calling them in for his hunting buddies. Many lifelong friendships were made during hunting season. Family was very important to Lester especially his children, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Christmas was a special and fun time on Lester's two and a half acres in west Tulsa. Many wonderful memories were made there over the years.Taco night was always popular among the kids and it became a Christmas tradition. Lester will be remembered as a kind, hardworking and fun Dad and Grandpa and a friend to all. He is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Wanda Lofland and Geraldine Youngblood, niece Yuvonne Durbin; his wife of 53 years, Billie Ann and daughter Tonya and her husband Joe Longo. He is survived by his children; Debbie Schrack and husband Boyce, Ben Chesser and wife Joni, and Sammy Chesser and wife Debbie. Grandchildren; Lisa Hillen, Michael Todd, Stephanie Schrack, Ashley McMahen and husband Adam, Nick Chesser, Brandi Salerno and husband Mo, and Daniel Chesser and wife Jennifer. Great grandchildren; Blake, Hayden, Zeke, Caleb, Cohen, Acee, Olivia, Grady, Baylor and Clara Jane who was born on his 90th birthday, and brother Kenneth Chesser and wife Juanita, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be 1pm Friday at Bethany Church, 100 N Olive, Broken Arrow, OK.
