Lew Allen Springer, age 89, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, died in Tulsa on April 15, 2023. He was born on June 18, 1933 in Liberal Missouri to Forrest and Francis Springer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years Guyla Springer, his parents and sisters, Esther Marrs of Grove, Oklahoma and Elizabeth Braun of Joplin, Missouri. He is survived by four children Jody Winkle, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Randy Springer, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Lindsey Springer, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Robin Springer, Tulsa Oklahoma. Lew is survived by two stepsons Mark Miller, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Brett Miller, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and several grandchildren. Lew was a graduate of Joplin, Missouri high school in 1951 and Pittsburg State University in 1960. He enlisted in the Navy in July 1952 and served on active duty until November 1956. While in the Navy, he continued his interest in sports and actively participated in basketball and baseball. Before retiring to Bellavista, in May 1985, he was employed by Shell Oil Company in Tulsa Oklahoma for 22 years. During that time he attained the position of supervisor in the credit department, and later, as supervisor of purchasing. Lew loved to play Golf and travel when he was not busy doing honey-does after retiring. If you knew him, he would not hesitate to tell you about his time in the Navy playing basketball for the service men to enjoy. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.
