Lillian Goldberger Price was born in Trebisov, Czechoslovakia on April 4, 1919, to Simon and Regina Braun Goldberger and died July 28, 2013.
Lillian came to the United States on the Queen Mary in 1938 to stay with her aunt Anne Klein in Kansas City, where she worked in her aunt's Egyptian Tea Room.
She and her husband Josh Price shared a deep devotion to each other, family and friends throughout their 66 years of marriage. In Tulsa, she worked alongside her husband at both Josh Price Sporting Goods at 4th and Main and later at J&J Sales. She volunteered at a number of organizations, including the Cerebral Palsy Association, Zarrow Manor and Tulsa Public Schools. She was a long-time active member of Congregation B'nai Emunah Synagogue.
Known for her warm smile, great listening skills, and thoughtful advice, even during the last week of her life, she reminded us to savor life. Her recipe for a long marriage included three things: hug often, laugh often, and when you forgive, forgive completely. She leaves a legacy of what it means to be a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and true friend.
Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2007, her parents, brothers and sisters. She is mourned by: her son, Mel Preisz of Oklahoma City; her daughter Ricki Price-Baugh and her husband David Baugh of Houston; her son Sandy Price and his wife Christy of Oklahoma City; her grandson David Price and his wife Robyn, and her great-grandson Josh of Edmond; her grandson Alexander Price of Tulsa; her brother-in-law and his wife Harold and Janet Price of Kansas City, her sister-in-law Nettie Matters formerly of Tulsa and retired in Florida, nephews, nieces, extended family and many, many friends.
A graveside service will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, July 30, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a shiva minyan at Zarrow Manor, 2025 East 71st Street, at 4:30 p.m.
