It was my privilege to be the daughter of Tulsa's Gene Pinion and Belfast's Gerry Corr Pinion. I was the first of their five children; myself, Michael, Nancy, Seamus, and Gerriann. My parents taught me the rewards of honest hard work and gave me entree to the finest offerings of Tulsa and the Old Sod because of, or despite, my unique family members. My gentle and consummate gentleman husband, Ron Smith, was my kind barometer. I was fortunate to have our beautiful vibrant son, Sean, an accomplished physician; our colorful altruistic daughter, Tara, the first alumnus inducted into Bishop Kelly High School of Fame; our two stellar grandsons, Brendan and Spencer Smith; and my lovable nephew, Philip Pinion. Each is gifted with a beautiful soul with special talents, and each is complete joy. Ron and I also enjoyed exploring our overlapping Tulsa roots as well as our multicultural ancestries.

I knew the heights and depths of most human experiences. I never regretted anything that made me laugh or smile. Because everyone dies but not everyone lives, I truly felt that I experienced exceptional times with my family, my friends, my critters, my books, my music, and with nature. I was content and grateful. To my friends and kindred spirits who really knew me, I often recalled our shared experiences, you were my sunshine, you enriched my life, and you made my soul blossom.

I believed that you should be keenly aware of charlatans and interlopers, they are energy vampires. You should listen to the youth, to the aged, to nature, and to the stars with an open heart. Integrity and good manners will never be out of style; they will take you where coin cannot go. Play. Laugh. Vote. Go and keep going.

Be the reason someone is smiling today. Making memories is the business of life. Always be kind but not stupid. After all, we were all made from stardust and we were just spending a finite amount of time together.
