Her working history included 5 years as Kitchen Manager/typist for the Ellis School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15 years as Manager of the Test Kitchen for the Pennsylvania State University Food Services, and then nine years as a Nutritionist in the Nutrition and Technical Services Division for the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Technical Assistance Branch, of the USDA, in Alexandria, Virginia where she managed three contracts/projects for the Child Nutrition programs (National School Lunch and Breakfast Program and Child and Adult Care Food Program) – finally, before her retirement, serving the Food Distribution Division as their nutritionist in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
