Linda Ann LaFortune went home to her Lord on March 20, 2013. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December, 28, 1951. She was a bright, cheerful child who was the oldest of 5 children born to J.A. LaFortune, Jr. and Rosa Lee LaFortune who preceded her in death. Raised by strong Roman Catholic parents, she always had a strong commitment to Christ and her Holy Mother. She graduated from Monte Cassino High School in Tulsa and was the Cascia Hall Homecoming Queen her senior year. As the oldest child, her siblings fondly remember her as the first driver and hauling the 4 of us around town endlessly. We also remember her love and caring for all of us growing up always fulfilling her role as the oldest child. We also recall her tremendous natural beauty and the young men constantly seeking out high school and college dates with Linda. As an adult, one of her great passions was making beautiful costume jewelry and she even had a retail shop in midtown Tulsa for a period of time. Another great passion was for animals of all kinds. In her later years, these pets were her greatest joy.
Linda was especially close with her sister Michelle LaFortune Swartz, who preceded her in death, and her mother. The three enjoyed wonderful trips together in Europe searching for antiques for Mom's antique store. Linda was a great companion and comfort to her mother in her last years and they had a very special relationship. She truly loved all of her family as well. She is survived by daughter, Ashley Wickham, two brothers, Joe and Bill LaFortune, and a sister, Lisa LaFortune, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
She requested that any donations made in her memory be to Birthright of Tulsa.
A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 14th and Boulder, Tulsa.
