Lionel E.Z. Cohen, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Williamsburg, Virginia from complications following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah A. Cohen, and sons, Stephen and Daniel Cohen of Tulsa. He leaves his daughter, Esther H. Cohen and beloved granddaughter, Erin H. Shivers in Williamsburg, VA; his brother and sister-in-law, Morton and Janet Cohen in Tulsa, and niece, Susie Kaye and nephew, Harley Cohen in Dallas, TX.
Lionel was born September 26, 1924 in Tulsa, OK. He entered the U.S. Navy following high school and served on the WASP in the Pacific theatre during WWII. He received his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Virginia before returning to Tulsa to practice oil and gas law. Lionel enjoyed tennis, movies, chocolate, telling bad lawyer jokes and above all, being with his family. In 1996 Lionel left Tulsa and eventually settled in Williamsburg, VA to be close to his family. He was a devoted, thoughtful and loving father and grandfather.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery,in the New Jewish Section.
