Obituary

Our beloved father, husband, brother and friend, Lloyd Sullivan Jr., was called home to his heavenly father Sunday, October 8th in his home surrounded by family and friends. He led a life of integrity and generosity and was loved and revered by everyone that knew him.

Lloyd ("Junior") was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico on December 30th, 1943 to Loyd and Altagracia (Letha) Sullivan. The oldest of three children, Lloyd grew up in west Tulsa were he and his younger brother, Benny, loved building hot rods and hanging out at the local burger joint. He was a protective and generous brother to his little sister Altita. He graduated from Central High School in 1962 and quickly joined the Navy where he worked as a diesel mechanic until 1966. He would later go on to serve over twenty years in the Army Reserve as a Sergeant First Class.

After returning home from the service, Lloyd worked as a welder at C-E Natco. Soon afterward, he was set up on a blind date with a pretty young lady named Betty whom he had recognized from the Continental Roller Rink during high school. After a whirlwind romance, they married on St. Patrick's Day, 1967 and he happily took on the role of daddy to her young son and daughter. Lloyd and Betty settled in Jenks, where they went on to have two more sons, and a daughter. After C-E Natco closed its doors in 1984 Lloyd went to work at Sinclair Oil where he worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2009.

In addition to building hotrods Lloyd played a very active role as a coach on his kid's ball teams and mentor to their 4-H activities. His generosity extended to everyone he knew and as a result, he quickly gained a reputation as the neighborhood bicycle mechanic to every kid within a ten-block radius. His ever-present wit, sense of humor and thoughtfulness made him a pseudo father and grandfather to generations of children and their parents.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jo, his children Lance Patrick Jones and Damon Joseph Sullivan of Tulsa, Kimberly Louise Hoffman of Idaho, Lloyd William Sullivan and Altita Dawnyal Martin of Colorado, his brother William (Benny) Sullivan, sister Altita (Pet) Sullivan, eight grandchildren; Connor Joseph Sullivan, Cole Hunter Hoffman, Bryce Chandler Jones, Emilee Kay Sullivan, Sydney Lauren Sullivan, Sheridan Nicole Sullivan, Katherine Marie Martin, and Alexander Lewis Martin and a host of friends.

His playful sense of humor, sarcastic wit and renowned generosity will be greatly missed by all.
