Obituary

Lloyd William Sedlacek "Papa", 92, passed away on January 3, 2015. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on April 9, 1922. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Rose Sedlacek, parents Michael William and Eva Pearl (Goodwin) Sedlacek. He was the eldest son of seven children. He graduated high school in Fairborn, Ohio. After graduation he worked at Wright Patterson Air Field before joining the Army Air Corp, currently known as the Air Force, in Dayton, Ohio. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii as a tailgunner on a glider plane. After discharge he worked as a civil engineer doing steel structural design, including the Tulsa Driller, in Tulsa until his death. Lloyd loved bowling in the Knights of Columbus league weekly. He enjoyed golf, swimming, fishing, dancing and lawn bowling all his life. He attended St. Benedict Catholic Church weekly with his children and grandchildren. A man of faith, knowledge and a life of great moral character and integrity. He is survived by his children; son, Jonathan Sedlacek and wife Carrie Bowman; daughter, Rose Ann Ingram and husband Matt Ingram; son, Christopher W. Sedlacek and his wife Kayla Sedlacek; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his name to the St. Benedict Building Fund and Bishop Kelley High School. A Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial 1030 a.m. Friday at Church of Saint Benedict, Broken Arrow.
