Obituary
Lois Elizabeth Taylor Bartlett, social worker, died in Tulsa on May 15th. She was 99.
She was born on January 25, 1915 in Sulphur to Estella and William Taylor, early pioneers to Murray County. Her career as a social worker began at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City before going to England with the American Red Cross where she served two years in army hospitals. After the war, she organized a cancer clinic at St. John's hospital in Tulsa. She was married to Dr. F. Lewis Bartlett.
Lois will always be remembered for her extraordinary grasp of history and politics but above all, for her interest in people. She is survived by her daughter Mary Bartlett of Portland, Oregon, two grandchildren, Jessica Bartlett Glenn and James Bartlett Giese, three great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins.
A private memorial celebration is planned for family and friends.
