Obituary
Loretta, known as "DeDe" to her friends, was born February 14, 1922 to Lelia and Harold Harding in Humboldt, Kansas. She graduated from Humboldt High School and attended Business College in Chillicothy, Missouri.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Veral "Bud" Bauer in 1941. They had three children: Sally Lea, John Roger and Thomas Randall. Bud was a partner with F.F. Secrest in Secrest Pipe Coating Company and the family traveled extensively following the pipeline work. In 1955 they settled in Tulsa where Loretta devoted her time to raising her active family. She was an early member of Christ United Methodist Church when it was founded. She and Bud bought a home on Lake Hudson in 1982 when he retired. They loved fishing and traveling in their motor home and always had a house full of family when they were home. DeDe devoted her life to her husband and family and will be missed so very much. Her beloved husband for 56 years, Bud, died in 1996. Loretta then moved to Tulsa and lived at Lincoln Parks Apartments so she could be close to family.
She is survived by: her children, Sally Jarboe (John), John Bauer, and Thomas Bauer (Becky); seven grandchildren, J.B. Jarboe (Carrie), Sarah Tucker (Jeff), Susanne Pereira (Charles), Allison Christie (Kye), Chris Bauer (Stephanie), Heather Artman (Darin), and Holly Bauer; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
One of her greatest experiences was a pilgrimage to the Holy Land where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She was a born-again Christian and truly loved the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Heartfelt love and thanks to the wonderful ladies who cared for her for the past four years: Gloria, Clo, Jennifer and Kat.
Viewing will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 S. Boulder Avenue, Tulsa. Private family services with burial in Humboldt, Kansas.
