Loretta Jean Pickhardt ( n�e Wright), 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 22, 2021, at her home following a battle with cancer.
Loretta was born May 17, 1931, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Empire High School in Duncan.
Beautiful and effervescent, Loretta shone brightly. She was a consummate entertainer, and she cherished her many friends, who knew her as warm, cheerful, and fun-loving.
Loretta had a keen eye for interior design and led the Tulsa Designer Showcase for 10 years. She was active at Harvard Avenue Christian Church, where she served as deacon and elder, chaired the Cookbook Committee, and participated in the Challengers Class.
Springtime would always find Loretta in the garden. She enjoyed book clubs, cooking, and playing bridge with friends, and she was a master of needlepoint, creating numerous works of art that grace her family's homes.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 71 years, Homer Pickhardt; daughter Carolyn McClure and her husband Jim; grandchildren Christen, Laura, and Jay; and great-grandchildren Dawn, Benjamin, and Mason. She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Wright, sister Martha Wright, and son Carl Pickhardt.
A funeral service will be held at Harvard Avenue Christian Church on Saturday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m.
