Lynn Slagle, 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 17, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on September 21, 1928 to the late Chris and Madeleine DalSasso in Clinton, IN. Lynn left Clinton after high school graduation to go to New York to pursue an acting career while working for TWA. She then moved to Indianapolis with TWA in 1956 and met and fell in love with William (Bill) Slagle. They married in 1958 and had two children. They moved to Chicago in 1961, before Bill took a job in Tulsa in 1962, where she spent the rest of her life. After Bill died in 1973, Lynn went to work for American Airlines. She retired from American Airlines after 20 years.
Lynn lived life passionately and actively. Her sense of humor and compassionate spirit allowed her to make friends easily and keep them forever. Lynn loved to travel and was fortunate to see the world. She loved biking and swimming, and playing golf and tennis with her many friends. She loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. She felt very blessed in life and was constantly giving back through various volunteer groups such as RSVP, the Airport Ambassadors and St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she was a faithful and active member.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Slagle, brother Tony DalSasso and infant sister, Yolanda DalSasso. She is survived by her son Kurt Slagle, his wife Teresa Slagle and children Katie Slagle, Laura Kerr and husband Jack, Betsy Slagle, and Danny Slagle; and son Chris Slagle, his wife Terry Slagle and children Craig Slagle and Audrey Slagle all of Tulsa, OK; her brother Ray DalSasso and his children Rod and Lynn DalSasso of Orange, TX; and niece Chrisleigh DalSasso of Orange, TX.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., followed by a prayer of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel in downtown Tulsa, OK. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 22, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Tulsa, OK.
