Lynnda Trevathan , age 50 died on April 6 2024 at Porta Caile House in Tulsa, Oklahoma from metastatic breast cancer.
Lynnda was born on January 25th, 1974 in Oklahoma City to parents Lawrence Simpson and Tonita Taylor. She graduated from Wanette High School in the class of 1992 then furthered her education by obtaining a degree from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 2001. Lynnda converted to the Catholic Faith in 2007. On July 12th, 2014 she married David Trevathan and they made their home in Evergreen, Colorado where they had their son Michael. In 2021 they left Evergreen for an adventure and to change their lives. They bought an RV, traveled for almost a year and settled on 10 acres in Sand Springs to build a homestead and homeschool their son.
Lynnda was deeply involved in her Faith at Most Precious Blood Parish. She fell in love with the Traditional Latin Mass after 13 years of being Catholic, attending Biblical and Catechetical School, and studying the Faith. She enjoyed cooking, camping, country dancing, concerts, festivals, playing with Michael and sharing her love of these things with others. Her family and friends will always remember her as a beautiful person with a special energy, a light showing others what love and friendship truly is. She was an exceptional mother, an exception woman, an exceptional human.
She is survived by her husband Dave, 7 yr old son Michael, mother Tonita Taylor, twin sister Terresa Ellison, sister Angela Ross, sister Tarra Jones and multiple nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be said for Lynnda on Thursday evening, 6:00 PM at Most Precious Blood Parish Tulsa. A funeral is scheduled for Friday April 12th 11:00 AM at Most Precious Blood Parish. Flowers and/or memorial donations can be sent to Most Precious Blood Parish.
