Manuel "Kiko" Acosta, 92; returned to his heavenly home on April 22, 2018. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his last days; surrounded by the love of his wife, children, and other friends and relatives.
Kiko was born to Juan Acosta Henriquez and Carmen Ramirez De Diego, an Engineer and Housewife respectively, in Utuado, Puerto Rico on January 31, 1926. He was immersed in the Christian church that would be his lifelong support from young adulthood. He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1950 with a degree in education, served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as an executive with Colgate Palmolive after 33 years of devoted employment.
Kiko was blessed with a close and loving family. He married his best friend Iris Santiago on June 27, 1958 in San Juan Puerto Rico. Kiko helped raise his 4 children with patience, discipline and a lot of love. He taught them the lessons of hard work and shared his love for music. From the very beginning, he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of God's promises.
Kiko was a friend to all! He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Kiko is survived by his wife, Iris; his son Manny and wife Amber; his son Ivan and wife Teresa; and his daughters Marilys and Maridella and her husband Kelly; his grandchildren Oscar, Jessica, Lilliana, Annabel, Kempton, Nuallan, Ronnie, Joslyn, Chaselyn, and Mackaylyn.
