Margaret Ann Fitzgerald Cody passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Grace Living Center. She was born on March 5, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Patrick (Bill) Fitzgerald and Mary Frances (Conry) Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Michael Fitzgerald and his wife, Judy; her niece Dana (Fitzgerald) Maher and her husband, Brian; her nephew Brian Fitzgerald and his wife, Susanna; and great nephews and nieces Joel Fitzgerald, Quinn Maher, Ethan Fitzgerald, Elijah Fitzgerald, Liam Maher, Grace Fitzgerald and Mariah Fitzgerald. She leaves behind many other dear family members and friends. She was married to Thomas Cody for 25 years; they lived in Pueblo, CO.
She graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa in 1963 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1976 from the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. Maggie loved children and her sense of humor, patience and gentle nature, combined with her interest in early childhood education, led her to work for many years as a pre-school teacher. Throughout her life, she was an avid reader and very creative; many family and friends were recipients of handmade gifts featuring her skills at needlepoint and Japanese Bunka-shishu embroidery.
Maggie loved her family; she doted on her nieces and nephews. Her sweet, kind spirit and generosity will be greatly missed.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 16 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa.
