Margie Lou Taylor, 77, passed away Sunday October 25, 2020 with her family by her side at the end of a lengthy and vigorous battle against the effects of dementia. Margie was born December 27th, 1942 in Colorado Springs, CO to Thomas and Lorraine Keefer. She met her husband, Orbie Taylor, while in high school in El Dorado, KS. Margie and Orbie have lived in Tulsa since 1963 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Margie held strong Christian beliefs and attended church at Park Plaza Church of Christ until her conditions prevented. During her life Margie enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, competing at tennis and golf, and having her family over for a long evening of trivial pursuits. Margie also enjoyed quietly reading a book or writing in her journal.
For the past several years Margie's care was provided by Miller Hospice. We thank Kelli, Jacqueline, Diana, and Lisa for keeping her with us for as long as possible. Margie was loved by everyone who met her and had a beauty and smile that could light a room.
Margie is survived by her husband Orbie Taylor, her three children, Gregory Taylor (and wife Becky), Kerry Barnes (and husband Jeff), and Patrick Taylor (and wife Tabitha), all of Tulsa, as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Irwin (and husband Kemp) of Niwot, CO.
A viewing will be held Thursday, October 29th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services are planned for 10 am Friday October 30th both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 3612 East 91st Street South, Tulsa.
