Obituary

Mari Alene Davis peacefully passed on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the age of 63. While we will miss her greatly, we rejoice knowing she is in heaven with Jesus.

Alene was born on October 18,1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Marellie and Bill Bishop. She graduated from Jenks High School in 1980 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of Oklahoma in 1985.

After college, Alene married John Davis, started her career in interior design, and raised a loving family of three children. In every part of her life, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Alene demonstrated the love of Christ. Her days were marked by grace, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Alene was a gifted artist who found joy in painting the beauty of God's creation, especially wildflowers and mountain landscapes. Her garden was one of her happy places, full of colorful blooms and fresh vegetables. She cherished sunset walks with her husband, John, in Colorado and quiet moments on the porch during golden hour in Tulsa. She also loved traveling and planning trips. France and Italy were two of her favorite places in the world!

Her daughter Carolyn describes her simply and profoundly: "Beautiful, amazing, and wonderful." Alene carried a loving and generous spirit into every room and every relationship. She gave freely to those in need and poured her wisdom into the lives of many young women as a spiritual and life mentor. She had a special gift for gathering people and making space for celebration, joy, and meaningful connection. Her faith was central to all she did. She was passionate about Jesus Christ and sharing the gospel through both word and action.

Her many accomplishments include serving as a BSF Children's Leader for many years, a professional artist, interior designer, devoted mother and "Yaya" (grandmother), and faithful wife. Her true legacy is the love she gave and the faith she lived.

Alene generously supported many ministries and charities close to her heart, including: Pearl House, A New Leaf, Metro Christian Academy, Eden Village, Pathways, Brush Creek Ranch (Teen Challenge of Oklahoma), and Inside Out Re-Entry Services.

She was a member of Harvard Avenue Christian Church, and an active participant in Southern Hills Baptist Church, Victory Christian, and Oh Be Joyful Church in Crested Butte, Colorado.

Her life was a beautiful light. Full of faith, creativity, compassion, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Alene will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years, John Davis; mother, Marellie Robinson; siblings, Pam Robinson and Bill Bishop; children, Grace and Dan Swansinger and their children Arlo, June, and Wade Swansinger, Carolyn and Russ Silkwood, and Jack and Jenn Davis; aunts and uncles, Marcia and Doug Givens, Jack and Stephanie Allen, Sam Allen, and Nancy Allen; in-laws, Judy Davis, Mark and Celeste Davis, Annie and Chuck Essman, Ludi and John Beasley, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
