Obituary

Marianne Johnson, born in Columbus Ohio on August 16, 1941, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.
Marianne grew up in Columbus, with her sister Nancy and attended North High School. That is where she met the love of her life, Larry Johnson. After high school she attended The Ohio State University where she majored in Education and became a lifelong Buckeye fan! She married Larry after he returned home from the Marine Corps, and they began their life together working and raising their three children, Tim, Carrie and Kenny. Spending most of their adult life in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Marianne dedicated her life to Larry and their children. She was an incredible wife and mother as her family meant everything to her. She was the mom that attended all her children's school events, sporting events and activities. She was an immensely talented seamstress and was creative beyond measure. She provided her family with unyielding support, encouragement, and joy. She was undeniably selfless and always put others' needs and wants above her own. She was gracious and kind to everyone she ever met and had a smile that could brighten anyone's day!
Marianne and Larry were married for 62 years. They had a wonderfully happy life together even while navigating some challenging times such as Marianne's breast cancer at age 42. Marianne fought and persevered through her cancer and, as a cancer survivor, went on to support other women who were diagnosed with that terrible disease. Through it all, Larry was lovingly by her side and remained so until this day.
Her family feels so honored that God shared her with them for so many years. They will miss her forever but know she will never be far away.
Marianne is survived by her beloved husband Larry Johnson and their three children Tim Johnson (Amber); Carrie Ammann (Chuck); and Kenny Johnson (Ashley); her two grandchildren Bradley Johnson; Amanda Gorzney (Josh); and her sister Nancy Leppert (Gary).

A private memorial service will be held on her behalf in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
