Marie Henry Osborn, homemaker and longtime resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away April 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Thomas Henry, sister Colleen DeShan Smith and her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph E. Osborn.

She was raised in a Christian home in Drumright, OK with her parents and one sibling, a sister Colleen. She joined the First Baptist Church at an early age. After finishing high school the depression had hit the country, so rather than continuing her education, she obtained a job in Oklahoma City as head cashier with J.C. Penney Co.

During that time, her sister had married and was starting a family and her parents had moved to Tulsa. Getting out on her own she thought would be a "lark", but it didn't turn out that way because she missed her family. Consequently, commuting back and forth to Tulsa every weekend was getting tiresome. She decided to move to Tulsa and obtained a job as cashier for Public Service Co.

Fortunately, she met the love of her life in Tulsa, Joseph E. Osborn, who was from Kentucky and worked for Sun Oil Co. (called Sunray Oil then). After 3 years of courtship they married and spent their honeymoon trip in Havana, Cuba.

Her life was very exciting as she joined her husband on business trips. They also spent their vacations traveling to Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Florida and Mexico. They traveled through Europe and spent their 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii.

The first few years of her marriage, her Christian life didn't seem complete. She was separated from her husband who was a devout Catholic, so she decided (after much thought) to join him and converted to his Catholic faith. They lived in the Madalene Parish area and became members of that church.

One disappointment was that they were never blessed with children, but as her sister's family had grown to 3 daughters and 1 son, she did a lot of babysitting, which she enjoyed very much.

Her life was fulfilled with relatives and friends and charity work. It consisted of auxiliary volunteer work at St. John Medical Center, Vianney Home for Girls, the Children's Medical Center and the National Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of Tulsa Opera Guild, Xi Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the National Honor Society of Journalism, "Quill and Scroll".

After her husband was called to his heavenly home, she was left alone as her immediate family had also been called to their Eternal home. After several years, the Lord saw how weary she had become, so He decided to complete the family circle and she was called to her Eternal home.

She lived by her favorite Bible scripture, John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life".

She is survived by three nieces LaFleura Owens, Marie Jo Rotramel, Sharon Houts and one nephew Dr. Preston DeShan, and a number of great-nieces , nephews and several cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and a Rosary will be said 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 14, at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Madalene Church, with Msgr. Mueggenborg as celebrant. Burial at Calvary Mausoleum will follow.
