Mark Gregory Robb was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 3, 1955, to Ruth (Hicks) and Ernest Robb. He was the eighth of eleven children. He passed away on January 26, 2016, in Tulsa at the age of 61.
Mark graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Juris Doctor degree. There he met his future wife, Kathryn, and they married in 1984. They had three children together, two daughters and a son.
Mark was passionate about history and loved to share his knowledge with family and friends. He also enjoyed speaking about literature, reciting poetry, and singing and whistling songs ranging from classical to folk to classic rock. His wit and wry sense of humor brought smiles to many faces. He was well known for his gardening and landscaping expertise. Any project, large or small, would include Mark if available. He would work tirelessly and with an eye towards perfection. Always the gentleman, Mark treated everyone with honor and respect and made friends everywhere he went. He was especially attentive to his family, calling and visiting his children, parents and siblings as often as he could.
Mark is survived by his loving wife Kathryn; his daughter Elizabeth Poe, son-in-law Kevin and granddaughter Olivia; his daughter Ceilidh Yahola and son-in-law Johnny; and his son Conor. Mark is also survived by his five brothers: Paul, David, Steve, Jeff and Eric Robb; his five sisters: MaryAnn VanVeen, Ceci Connelly, Kathy Martin, Christina Taylor and Jane Mullenax; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Socorro Davis.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be prior to the service, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oklahoma Project Woman, 877-550-7465.
