Obituary

Mark Meussner, 56, of Tulsa, died Wednesday.

He was born to Katherine and the late Harry Meussner, April 5, 1955 in Detroit, MI.

Mark graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Southgate, MI and married his high school sweetheart, Cathy. Mark continued his education receiving his Systems & Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, a MSA from Central Michigan University, and completed his postgraduate studies at The University of Michigan and the University of Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife Cathy and two children: Megan, of Tulsa, Brian (Chris), of Livonia, MI and grandson, Drew. He was preceded by his father Harry Meussner and half brother Bill Meussner. He is also survived by his mother, Katherine and siblings: Darrell (Michele), Mary Kay (Ed), Harry (Jane), Jeff (Shelly), Joanne (Jim) and sister-in-law, Cindy (Larry) along with 13 nieces and nephews.

Mark was serving as the Vice President of Operations at Gunnebo Johnson. Prior to that he was President of Nautilus Commercial Fitness/Med Fit Systems in Virginia. Mark worked for Nautilus, Inc. in Tulsa, serving as their SVP, Global Manufacturing and Operations. In that role Mark was responsible for all domestic and international manufacturing and the global supply chain for Nautilus.

Prior to Nautilus, Mark worked for Ford Motor Co. for thirty-two (32) years. During his years with Ford Motor Company and the Visteon Corporation, Mark held several senior manufacturing and engineering positions. During that tenure, Mark spent twenty (20) years in Ford's Glass Operations. He served as Plant Manager and then Director of Float Glass Sales and Operations.

Mark was very active in the Tulsa community. Mark served on the Board of Directors for The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges, Oklahoma Governor's Business Roundtable, Advisory Board for The University of Tulsa Engineering School and was a Board member for The Tulsa Chamber of Commerce.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges (815 South Utica Avenue, Tulsa OK 74104; 918-584-8607; www.tulsacenter.org ).

A viewing will be held 2:00-7:00pm Sunday followed by a Rosary at 7:00 both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
