Obituary

Marla Sue Brody was born on September 28, 1945. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Mather High School. On September 19, 1965 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leon Brody. Marla worked tirelessly on behalf of schools in a district that continues to be ranked one of the country's best. The district valued her work on its behalf and honored her by dedicating one of its new school buildings to her. With a high school diploma in hand, and an amazingly sharp mind, Marla made quite a career for herself. She worked in a top management position at a direct response advertising agency and in more than one management position within the medical field. Most recently, she was employed as the Operations Manager for All Saints Home Medical, working on a team with executives from St. Francis and St. John's Hospitals. She loved to work and took pride in doing her job well.

Marla's greatest legacy wasn't about her work. It is about who she truly was as a person. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Brody of Tulsa, OK; her mother, June Edelman and her husband Marvin of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Alyson King and her husband Alex of Tulsa, OK, and Jocelyn Brody of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Brody King, Taylor King, and Jaxson King, and Shelato Brody and Pacey Brody; one brother, Bruce Berg, his wife Robin and their children Jessica Berg Scott and Ryan Berg. She is also survived by countless relatives, friends, and the TPFs whose lives will be forever changed for having known her.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Congregation B'nai Emunah in Tulsa, OK. The family will be receiving visitors at the King household Wednesday following services, Thursday evening, as well as Saturday after sundown.

Friends can honor Marla's memory with contributions to Ethiopia Reads www.ethiopiareads.org , New Hope Oklahoma www.newhopeoklahoma.org/ , or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ .
