The synagogue notes with sorrow the passing of Marsha Amanda Golzar (Dowdican), mother of Eric Golzar and Kylee Golzar (Katie Kershaw), and stepmother of Lisa Spiegler (Joe), Amy Golzar, and Lori Golzar. Additionally, she is survived by family, including friend and former husband David Golzar, and grandchildren Maia Golzar Anderson, Eli Golzar Anderson, and Ava Spiegler.

Marsha will also be dearly missed by her many friends, neighbors, coworkers, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. One of her greatest gifts was the depth of care she felt for those that she had known for a lifetime, equally with those that had recently entered her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Ellen Dowdican.

She was known for her quick wit, fierce loyalty, creativity, and humor. Marsha was a lover of animals, especially her granddogs Joon and Chicken. She embraced the values of Tikkun Olam, was passionate about education, having earned multiple master's degrees, loved reading mystery novels and listening to music, and yet, the role she cherished most was mother. We take comfort that in our hearts, we are all together watching a beautiful sunset.

A graveside funeral is scheduled at Rose Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m.
