Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Bidasio, 95, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma was received into the loving arms of Our Lord on 17th day, April, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy, parents, and their beloved daughter, Charlene Bidasio Miers.

Mary was born on February 1, 1923 in Spring Valley, Illinois, the daughter of Peter and Tecla (Bruno)  Corgiat.  She graduated with honors from Hall High School.  She had four wonderful brothers that predeceased her.  She was married to Angelo "Andy" C. Bidasio on June 6, 1942 and resided in New York until they moved to Tulsa in 1948.

Mary was a member of Saint Pius X church for over 45 years where she was very involved as a member of Women's Club, Social Concerns Committee, and served as an usher and Eucharistic minister for many years.  She was also a dedicated volunteer for Catholic Charities at Madonna House and the Holy Child Infant Shop.  In 1955 she was awarded the Helen B. Lauinger award for her many years of service.  She was also awarded the Phillips Class Act Award for going the extra mile with her volunteer efforts.  Participating in many church activities, Mary helped with fund raising projects and had roles on stage in parish musical productions.  In 2007 she was honored from the Woman of Achievement award at Saint Pius X.

She loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her multitude of friends.  She enjoyed cooking, collecting cook books, tea pots and rooting for the Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.  In addition, she loved oil painting, knitting, and gardening, especially planting flowers.  Mary and her husband also enjoyed traveling and they visited many destinations around the world.  She was a people person, always wanting to help those in need.  She was a giving and loving spirit to all.

Mary is survived by her sons, John (Linda) Bidasio and Robert Bidasio; son-in-law, Sheppard F. Miers, Jr.; grandchildren, Sheppard F. (Kristi) Miers III, Meredith Miers, Megan Miers, Carina (Ramon Lopez) Bidasio, and Adriana (Chris) Ames; great grandchildren, Sheppard F. Miers IV, Vivan Miers, Carter Miers, Joaquin Lopez, and Lola Sophia Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation, Catholic Charities, Saint Pius X School or the American Heart Association.Visitation: 3-5PM Monday at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.  Rosary: 7PM Monday and Funeral Mass 10AM Tuesday both at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1727 S. 5th Avenue, Tulsa.
