Mary Evelyn Ryan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother departed this life on June 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was 93 years old and her passing was peaceful.
She was born in Tulsa, OK on February 27, 1933, to Bill and Christine Hill, and spent a large part of her childhood in the Tulsa area with her two sisters, Pat and Nancy. After graduating from Holy Family High School in 1951. her first job was at First Ban Credit. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Ryan, and they were married for 48 years producing 5 children. As her children became older, she re-entered the workforce and was employed at Mid-Continent Casualty Co for almost 30 years. Later in life, she was an active volunteer, including with St. John's Hospital and Meals on Wheels.
Mary was a life-long Catholic, from her high school days at Holy Family to working at St. John's Hospital as a young woman, to her attendance at St. Peter and Paul parish, St. Catherine's parish, and Holy Family Cathedral at different periods in her life.
Mary is survived by her 5 children: Michael Ryan (Johnathon) of Tulsa, OK; Sharon Pruetzel (Charles) of Nixa, MO; Robert Ryan of Sand Springs, OK; Chris Ryan of Tulsa, OK; and Linda Lumpkin (Delvin) of Richmond, VA. She also has 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren (with another on the way!)
Mom always commented that she was happiest when "all of her family could be together."
Rest in Peace Mama - Love you always!
