Obituary
Mary H. (Smith) Henderson, 88, wife of the late C. A. (Neil) Henderson, Jr., Tulsa, died Friday, December 18, 2015 after a brief illness. Mary was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 11, 1927 to Francis J. and Helena M. (Ott) Smith.
Mary was a 1949 graduate of Notre Dame College, South Euclid, Ohio. Mary used her degree in various capacities such as in dietetics, cooking and sewing. She was also a remittance clerk for Shell Oil Company. Mary was a member of the Church of the Madalene and a resident of the Heatherwood Apartment community where she made many friends.
Mary is survived by her children, Paula M. Henderson (Randall Wood), Christine Wassil, Lisa Stearns, Nancy Jiles (Gregory), Lynn Hilst (Jeff), her eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her husband, who died in 2011, Mary was preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers and her granddaughter, Mary Lee Turney.
On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, friends may call from 3 to 5 pm at the Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel; later, a Rosary service will be held at the Madalene at 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at the Church of the Madalene.
The family would like to thank Drs. Brandon Geister and Vicki Baker for their compassionate care.
