Mary A. Patterson

It is with deep sorrow and profound loss that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Mary Agnes (Salasco) Patterson, who left us suddenly on November 13, 2024, due to a massive stroke. She was 64 years old. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but the love and warmth she shared will remain with us forever. Mary was born on June 10, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Andrew and Mary Joanna Salasco. She graduated from Edison High School in the class of 1978. She went on to spend the majority of her career working in Banking and Customer Service before retiring to help care for her four grandchildren for the last 16 years of her life. A devoted mother, loving wife, cherished sister, aunt, and friend, Mary touched the lives of so many with her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering love. She was a pillar of strength for her family, always putting others' needs before her own, and providing comfort, guidance, and care in times of joy and sorrow alike. Her home was a haven for her children and grandchildren, a place where laughter echoed and love never wavered. She loved spending time with her four grandchildren and loved a good game of Yahtzee. Mary had an innate ability to make everyone feel special. Whether she was supporting her family and friends through difficult times or making time to listen to a loved one, her compassionate heart and open spirit were gifts to all who knew her. She had a way of making people feel seen and valued, and her generosity knew no bounds. As a wife, Mary was a partner in the truest sense. Together with her husband of 33 years, Kent, they created a life filled with shared dreams, laughter, and memories. Their love for each other was evident to everyone who crossed their path, a true testament to the strength of their bond. As a sister and aunt, she was the heart of the family-loving, supportive, and always there to lend a hand or offer a kind word. Her family meant the world to her, and she found great joy in celebrating milestones, making memories, and nurturing those closest to her. Her friends knew her as a confidante and a source of unwavering support. Mary was the type of person who could brighten even the darkest days with her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and genuine heart. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and unbreakable connections. Mary is survived by her husband Kent R. Patterson their children Mary Megan Yirsa and husband Markquis, Alexander Douglas Westberg and wife Rachel Clare, their grandchildren; Lucy Joanna Yirsa, Logan Gene Yirsa, Maxwell Bartholomew Westberg, and Daphne Claire Westberg, sister Barbara Krommenhoek and husband Chris, sister-in-law Stephanie Meier, brother-in-law Mark Patterson, and wife Mary; their nieces and nephews; Hannah Elizabeth Adamcik and husband Kyle, Ainsley Ross Martindale and husband Gavin, John Ross Daniel, Nema McGinnis and husband Chris, Alyshia Meier, Lecrecia Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Michael Patterson, and wife Holly; and great-nieces, Avery Caroline Adamcik, Madeline Ayla Adamcik, Ezra Annaleise McGinnis, and Mica Ainsley McGinnis, Melanie Noelle Patterson, and Hailey Joy Patterson. A public viewing and Rosary will be held on November 21, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Fitzgerald's Funeral Home on 91st and Harvard. A funeral mass to celebrate Mary's life will be held on November 22, 2023, at St. Pius X at 10 am, where we will gather to remember her and share the countless ways she touched our lives. Though her time with us was far too brief, her impact was immeasurable. We take comfort in knowing that her love surrounds us still, and we carry her memory in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, sweet Mary. You are truly loved.
