Mary E. Penterman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died on July 10, 2018 at The Villages of Southern Hills of Tulsa under the loving care of Tabby Pike and Hospice. She was born in Tulsa on June 28, 1925, the daughter of Herman W. Penterman and Mary (Hartman) Penterman.
Miss Penterman attended Tulsa University and received her BS in Engineering at the age of 19. She worked for Shell Oil for 30 years in the geological and geophysical areas of the oil and gas business. During her career she resided in Houston, Denver, Los Angeles and finally Tulsa. Miss Penterman was a member of the Desk and Derrick for many years. She was an expert seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. She also loved traveling and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth P. "Penny" Brett of Wilson, NY who died in October of 2010. She is survived by three nephews, Jerome "Jerry" (Anne) Brett, of Youngstown, NY, John "Jack" (Mary Ellen) Brett of Amherst, NY and David (Laura) Brett of Niagara Falls, NY; three nieces Barbara (Ronald) Burns of Amherst, NY, Mary (Don) Wannicki of Ransomville, NY and Lisa (Rich) LaBend of Amherst, NY. She is also survived by thirty-four great nieces, nephews and several cousins.
Friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Thursday, 5:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Christ the King Church, both in Tulsa, OK. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa.
