Obituary
Mary Ruth Rice (Dawson) died peacefully on June 17 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 74 after complications from a fall.
Mary is survived by her husband, Earon and 22 year old cat, Prissy of the home, daughters Diann Smith (David) of Fayetteville, GA and Janie Jergensen (Scott) of Winter Haven, FL, grandchildren Courtney Jergensen of Winter Haven, FL and Taylor Jergensen of Allen, TX, sister Ruby Lee Toon (Tommy) of Tulsa, and nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her father, John Dawson, her mother, Ruby Dawson King, and a sister, Melinda Emma Jean Dawson.
Mary was born on July 19, 1941 in Oil City, Arkansas. She graduated from Oil Trough High School in 1959. She married Earon on December 27, 1958. She called Jenks home for the past 55 years.
Mary was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease at age 17. She was a fighter and battled this disease like a warrior and outlived all the doctor's predictions.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, June 21 at 11:00 at Tulsa Hills Baptist Church. Interment will be at Bixby City Cemetery.
