Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Kennedy) Rosencutter, 89, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 in her home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Tulsa, OK on December 18, 1923 to George and Edith (Kern) Kennedy.

Mary attended St. Catherine's through the 8th grade, and continued on to Holy Family Cathedral School, where she graduated and continued to be an active parishioner. Mary devoted much of her time to the Holy Family Women's group and countless charities. Mary's love for her Church was paralleled only by her love for her cherished family.

In 1943, Mary married John F. W. Rosencutter. She and John were blessed with ten children in the house they built by hand, a home that she lived in for the remainder of her life. Mary considered her ten children to be her greatest accomplishment. After her husband became ill, she spent many years taking care of him at their home. John passed away in 2008. A caring and compassionate lady, Mary loved reminiscing about John, her parents and her brothers. Mary always enjoyed company; she was most happy when around her grandchildren and great-grand children.

Mary is survived by her 10 children and their spouses: William and his wife, Sue Rosencutter of Tulsa; Robert and his wife, Shirley Rosencutter of Tulsa; Barbara and her husband, Donald McHoul of Cumberland, RI; James Rosencutter, of Tulsa; Michael and his wife, Leslie Rosencutter of Tulsa; Mary Dell Rosencutter, of Tulsa; Gregory Rosencutter, of Collinsville; Donna and her husband, Berl Hart of Tulsa; Stephen and his wife, Robin Rosencutter of Tulsa; Kathy and her husband, Max Owen of Tulsa, 27 grandchildren and 50 great grand-children.

Prayer service will be 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, Tulsa. Mass Friday, June 14, at 2:00 pm, at Holy Family Cathedral, 8th and South Boulder.

Friends may honor Mary's memory with contributions to St. Catherine Parish, 4532 S 25th West Avenue, Tulsa 74107, or Holy Family Cathedral School, 820 S Boulder Avenue, Tulsa 74119.
