Ellen Scalet, 86, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Died April 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Porta Caeli House.  She was born May 9, 1931, in Clinton, Missouri to Earnest and Ellen Rentchler.  It was there that she met her husband of 62 years, Jim Scalet.  Ellen loved spending time with her family and was known for her love of cooking.  She was an active member of the Serra Club and loved getting together with her friends.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Dr. Jane Scalet Scott.  She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Chris Scalet (Kathy) and Anne Scalet from Tulsa, Oklahoma and Meg Wilson (Brian) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jake (Claire) and Sarah Beth Scott; Jasmine, Loren, Abby and Matthew Scalet, Hannah Connelly (Morgan), Michael and Andrew Scalet and Meredith and Maddie Wilson; great grandchildren, Ava and Aiden Scalet and Payton Scalet; sisters, Ann Roach of Overland Park, Kansas and Eloise (Tom) Kipp of Baldwin City, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. and a Memorial Mass, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. both at St. Pius X Catholic Church.               In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Porta Caeli House, the Dr. Jane Scalet Scott Memorial Fund or St. Pius X School Endowment Fund.  Arrangements made by Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
