Mag Sullivan passed away on January 1 at the age of 84. Born in 1938 to Alfred Boudreau, Jr. and Katherine Tierney Boudreau, she was the eldest of five siblings, all girls. She grew up in a devout Catholic household where faith, family and laughter abounded.
Mag graduated from Monte Cassino High School in Tulsa, attended Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Tulsa.
Mag taught third grade at Saint Pius X school until her marriage to Daniel Walter Sullivan in 1962. They lived briefly in New York City and Montclair, New Jersey while Dan finished his Masters Degree in Taxation Law at New York University. They moved to Muskogee, OK for several years and made many lifelong friends there before moving back to Tulsa, where they remained for the rest of their lives. Mag and Dan had four children.
Mag and Dan's lives centered around family and faith. They were active supporters of their parishes and of Catholic education. Both Mag and Dan were employed by Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma. Dan provided legal aid for those in need and Mag was Director of Madonna House for several years. Mag then became a caregiver to her grandmother, Agnes Boudreau, and later a caregiver to her husband Dan until his death in 1991.
Those who knew Mag loved her sense of humor and the laughter that ensued. She was a member of the "Chancery Chicks," a group of dear friends who worked for the chancery and in other Catholic endeavors in the 1980s and 1990s.
Mag is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Walter Sullivan; her parents, Katherine and Alfred Boudreau; her sister, Barbara Boudreau Kehew; and her granddaughter, Ellen Sullivan.
Mag is survived by her sisters, Margaret Boudreau Ellison, Janet Boudreau Pagano, Katie Boudreau, and brother-in-law Bud Kehew. She is survived by her children: John Sullivan of Tulsa; Mary McAuliffe (Mark) of Saddle River, New Jersey; Dan Sullivan (Amy) of Oklahoma City; and David Sullivan (Andrea) of Tulsa. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Tommy Sullivan (Katie); Meredith Stephenson (Chaz); Sydney Maguire (Justus); Daniel Sullivan; Anna, Lucy and Maggie McAuliffe; Jack and Patrick Sullivan; Annie, Elizabeth and Mary Sullivan; great grandchildren Beck and Max Sullivan, and eleven nieces and nephews and their families.
A rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m., both at The Church of Saint Mary. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
