Mary Susanna "Suzi" Elias passed away on October 7th, 2017 at her daughter's home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was surrounded by her family, dear friends, and her loving caregiver when her spirit left this life.
Born on June 2nd, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clyde Buchanan Walker and Mildred Elizabeth Walker. She attended Monte Cassino High School in Tulsa and graduated in 1963. She dearly loved her classmates of her graduating class and stayed in touch with many of them throughout the years. She received her Bachelors in Business and Banking from Oklahoma State University in 1967. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority chapter at OSU. She earned a Masters of Business Administration and a degree in Accounting from the University of Tulsa. She later became a C.P.A. Her family owned and managed Peoples State Bank in Red Fork (Tulsa) since the early twentieth century, originally founded before the statehood of Oklahoma. She worked at the family bank for many years and enjoyed being with the employees of the bank. She looked upon her co-workers as family members, and retired as its President in 2003.
Over the years, she was a member of several organizations, most notably the Tulsa Garden Club and the Tulsa County 4-H clubs. She loved living on her family's land - where she raised many animals, gardened, made quilts for newborns at the Madonna House, and enjoyed being with her family. She will be remembered for her lighthearted sense of humor, her faith in God, and her joyful spirit. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
She is survived by her three children, Mark Elias and wife, Megan of Tulsa, OK, Corey Elias and wife, Melanie of Broken Arrow, OK, and Elizabeth Elias and husband, John Bogatko of Santa Fe, NM; and nine grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Madelynn, McKenna, Julia, Lydia, Maggie, Noah, and William. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Clyde and Mildred Walker, and her sister, Patricia Moore.
A private funeral mass with interment will be held on Friday, October 13th. A celebration of her life will occur on Saturday, October 14th at the Sophian Park Plaza, 1500 South Frisco Ave., Tulsa, OK, from 11am to 1pm. A light lunch will be served, and her children and their families would love to have you.
