Mary Towner was born Mary Catherine Charon, May 22, 1920 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Frances Crowe Charon and Francis Anthony Charon. She passed away in Tulsa on Friday, January 30, 2015.

Mary grew up in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and graduated from St Anthony High School. She married Harvey Towner in May 1947. Mary and Harvey had 5 children; Tom, Rick, Don, Linda and Mark. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Harvey and youngest son Mark.

Mary kept herself busy raising their five children and volunteering (she was one of the original Candy Stripe ladies at St. Francis Hospital). She loved her arts and crafts and jigsaw puzzles.

Mary is survived by four of her five children, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren as well as her sister, Ellen McAulay and brother, Jack Charon.

In addition growing up in Okmulgee, Mary lived in Tulsa, New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania, California and Arizona. Mary and Harvey spent a lot of their retirement years traveling in their RV and taking their grandchildren on trips they will never forget and still talk about.

Mary will always be remembered by her always present smile, her love of meeting new people, and as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

There will be a Rosary in the Chapel at Montereau at 3:30 on Friday, February 20th, followed by a Celebration of Life in the City View Lounge until 5:30 p.m. for the residents of Montereau. Funeral services will be at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m..
