Obituary

Melissa Misty Dawn Bratcher. September 02,1965 - August 17, 2026

Heaven just got a bit brighter, a little happier, with an enormous amount of more love. Misty is a beautiful Daughter, sister, grandma, great grandma, not only the best mom a son or daughter could ever have or a grandson or granddaughter could pray for. She is also an amazing writer, a wonderful nurse, the best story teller, she's a warm cup of coffee in the morning, the smiling face you'd look forward to after a bad day, a bandaid on a wound that once hurt so bad, but suddenly stopped, a voice that's the same as a symphony similar to a lullaby at night where dreams turn to nightmares, an animal loving, life giving, wonderful woman.

Misty was known for the love she gave to the world and everyone in it. She loved telling stories, loved to make people smile. She would spend hours making videos of books she wrote for all to hear and really enjoyed it. She loved peanut butter, Reese's cups, chocolate shakes, coffee, lasagna, and all of her mom's cooking.

Misty was the lighthouse in our family. If you were ever lost and couldn't find your way home, her light would shine so bright you could see it across the sea. She was The reason to not be mad because her smile was a fire extinguisher to any heated temper. My mom never once did anything bad to anyone on this earth. She loved everyone as they were God's children, as was she. So in her eyes we are all brothers and sisters. She loved spending time in her room getting ideas for her new books while sightseeing out the window. Each morning she would be at the table reading her book or petting her dog Winter, and she would greet us with a good morning and a big smile. Sometimes everyone would talk for hours in the kitchen. There's been days where we didn't even get to work cause we were all together laughing and sharing memories, talking about making new ones. Those moments are the moments to live for.

Misty's memory stays on this earth with us as her spirit moves on to a better place. Her last words were I love you all forever and always.. That was repeated until she drifted off to sleep. Before she passed she said she would see us in the morning and she would make us some coffee to share together. I'll forever be looking forward to the day when we are all at the table again.

On her last year of life we took her across the world to see everything we could. She got to help animals, see the ocean, ride on an airplane all the way to new York to see a Broadway play. We watched her laugh so hard after a bison took all her food from her. We gave her more memories than some see in a lifetime ❤️ I'm forever blessed and grateful for the time we all had with her.

She is survived by her mom Peggy Winings, her uncle Ronney, children: Cristina Miller, Aaron Parker, Daniel Parker, Tiffany Parker, Matthew Parker, Bailey Linker, Ty Donahue, Emily and Evelyn Rivett, Myles Parker, Maci Parker, Brooklynn Parker, London Parker, Tyler Brooks, Jordan Webb, and Scarlett McCalister,

Rest in peace Momma ❤️ I love you forever and always.
