Obituary
Merli Gorospe Fermo, M.D., 80, of Tulsa, OK died Wednesday March 17th, 2010.
Merli was born to the late Fernando Gorospe and Luz Ventura, July 11, 1929, in Manila, Philippines. She graduated High School in 1947 at Sta. Catalina College and earned a BA degree from Far Eastern University, Manila Philippines. She earned her Medical Degree from Manila Central University in 1956. She married Joe Cruz Fermo, M.D. in 1957 and they lived in, MA, PA, VA, Fort Supply and Norman, OK before relocating to Tulsa, OK in 1980.
Merli Fermo, MD was a practicing psychiatrist until December 2009. She was passionate about her faith, life, friends, family, colleagues, patients and to her community. She is retired with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and has practiced with her husband Joe C. Fermo, Jr. in private practice since 1980 in the city of Tulsa.
She was an active member of Church of Saint Mary.
Merli is survived by her husband Joe C. Fermo, Jr., MD, five children: Ricardo Fermo, M.D. of Charleston, SC, Frank, Teri and Anthony Fermo of Tulsa, OK and Michael Fermo, M.D. of Scottsdale, AZ. She had 10 grandchildren: Joe, Jon, Jen, Frankie, Kayli, Christian, Samantha, Tatiana, Isabela and Sofia.
She is also survived by, Fernando Gorospe, Honorable Judge-Manila, Ascension V. Gorospe, - Tulsa, Ana Luz Tengco – Covina, California, Luis V. Gorospe, MD Tulsa,
Ignacio V. Gorospe, Anaheim, and Cynthia G. Williams, Jakarta, Indonesia .

"In memory of Merli Fermo, MD" the following schedule of events will be as follows:
A viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday March 20, 2010 and Sunday March 21, 2010.
A Novena and Rosary will be done in memory of Merli Gorospe Fermo, MD at 7:00 pm Monday March 22nd, 2010 and Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday March 23rd, 2010 both at Church of St. Mary. Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500. www.southwoodcolonialchapel.com
