Obituary

Michael Irving Aneshansley was born on December 16, 1946 in Clinton, Oklahoma to C.W. "Bill" Aneshansley and Frances Evelyn Spurlin Aneshansley.
In 1965, Mike graduated from Clinton High School and then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Mike graduated from SWOSU in 1969 with degrees in Physics and Mathematics. He joined the United States Navy upon his graduation from SWOSU and attended Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. After graduating OCS, he was selected by Admiral Rickover to attend Nuclear Power School which he completed in 1970. Mike served in the Navy for over eight years and attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
After Mike left the Navy, he went to work for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission prior to being hired by Entergy Inc. as Training Manager at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Port Gibson, Mississippi. He became Operations Manager in 1979. Mike the went back to work at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as an inspector for nuclear power stations in the U.S. In 1981, he joined Quadrex, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a management consulting firm that provided services to nuclear power plants across the U.S. It was in 1983, he and his partner, Jerry Martin, founded Enercon to provide consulting services for the startup and operation of commercial nuclear power plants. From 3 people and 4 clients, the company quickly grew to a diversified company with offices Worldwide and employing thousands of employees. In 2005, the co-founders of Enercon sold the remaining stock to the ESOP and retired from active management of the company.
In January 1968, Mike married Vicki Roniger. The couple were blessed with 2 children. Kristi Allen of The Woodlands, Texas and Scott Aneshansley of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple have 3 grandchildren, Mackenzie Allen, Michael Allen and Maci Allen. Mike is also survived by his brother, Alan Aneshansley (Kathy) of Clinton, Oklahoma, sister Janice Young (Rick) of Carrollton, Texas and Brad Aneshansley (Kim) of Clinton, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelsie Allen and his parents.
For the last 41 years, Mike and his family have called Tulsa, Oklahoma home. Mike and Vicki also spent 27 years in Hawaii which they considered their second home.
Mike was a devout member of Church of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as Lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and various other roles. Mike was also a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Puako, Hawaii and was previously a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church and St. Bernards Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27th from 5-7 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7pm, both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm, on Wednesday, December 28th, at Church of Saint Mary Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma.
