Obituary

Michael Jospeh Bivens, age 59, and Brandon Michael Bivens, age 22, both from Tulsa, passed away January 20th after a tragic weather related auto accident in Wyoming.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, February 5th at Abiding Harvest Church. Fitzgerald Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Michal Bivens was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Cull and Faye Bivens on July 4th, 1959. He went to school at Nathan Hale High School. Michael married the love of his life, Cindy Ellen Cassady, on February 21st 1987 in Tulsa. He graduated from OSU Institute of Technology and University of Oklahoma. He worked 28 years in the oil and gas industry, both at ONEOK and ONEGAS retiring as a Supply Chain Manager in 2016.

He loved spending time with his family, reading, and traveling. Michael's passions were his wife, children and grandchildren. Hobbies included shooting sporting clays, golf, OU sports, music, and movies.

Brandon Bivens was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Michael and Cindy Bivens on August 6, 1996. He graduated from Jenks High School in 2015. Just this year he graduated with his associates from Pierce College and was on the dean's list. He proudly served his country for 4 years in the US Army as a Military Intelligence Analyst.  During his time of service, Brandon was awarded the following commendations and medals: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Certificate of Achievement for excellence in multifaceted intelligence operations.

He loved spending time with friends and family and always had a desire to travel the world. He was a young man that had his priorities straight and a heart of gold with the passion to help others. His hobbies included working out, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors. Brandon had a wicked sense of humor and could not lie…. ever. He was known for his stellar dance moves, his passion for music and was grateful for the life he had.

Michael and Brandon are survived by their wife and mother, Cindy Bivens, daughter and sister, Cassady Blakesley, her husband, Tony, and their children, Rylee, Tullia, and Charlie, sister and aunt, Suzanne Mogelnicki, her husband, Bob, and their children, Lisa, Mark, and Joey, sister and aunt, Jana Hulse, her husband, Roger, and their sons, Mitch and Bryce, Brandon's aunt, Lori Franklin, her husband, Greg, and her son, T.J., and numerous other family members and friends.

They were preceded in death by Michael's parents; Cull and Faye Bivens, and Brandon's maternal grandparents; Earl and Betty Cassady.
