Michael Joseph Edwards passed away February 13, 2016 at age 69. He was born in Tulsa, OK, on August 15, 1946, the son of Joseph Wesley Edwards, Jr. and Sibyl Ezell McKay.  Michael "Mike" graduated from Bishop Kelley High School in 1964 and Oklahoma State University in 1969 with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.  After service in the United States Navy, Mike returned to Oklahoma State University and earned his MBA degree in marketing and finance.  He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1981.

During the years between his MBA and law degree, Mike was the owner of the Coney Island in Stillwater, OK.  He remained friends with many of his employees and customers.  He kept the Coney open during Christmas vacation and Spring break because most of the restaurants would close during these times.  He said so many students remained on campus and it just made good business sense to stay open!

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his son, James Wesley "Wes" Edwards (Susie) and grandson Graham, of Oregon.  He is also survived by his 10 siblings:  Mary Gieselman (Robert) of Dallas; Robert Edwards, of Tulsa; Patricia Green (Bill), of Collinsville; Phillip Edwards (Lea Anne), of Dallas; Judy Edwards and Janet Ogle, of College Station; Susan Mallory (Robert), of Houston; James Edwards, of Tulsa; Tess McKay, of Seattle; Chris Edwards, of Tulsa, and long-time friend, Teri Kennedy.

The visitation will be at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Avenue, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18th.
