Michael John Munding, 75, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, of congestive heart failure, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A mass and burial service will be at noon Thursday, December 12, at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel and grounds in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Michael Munding was born August 14, 1938, in Tulsa. He graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, in 1957, and from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1961 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.

He served in the U.S. Navy from April 1962 to April 1964.

Mr. Munding worked as an associate test engineer for Rockwell International in Tulsa and as an oil lubricant engineer for Sun Oil Co. and several other companies in Iowa and Illinois. Later, he worked as a guard for Per Mar Security Services in Iowa.

Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Munding of Anniston, Alabama; a sister, Susan Catherine Piccolo of Tulsa; a brother, Victor Eugene Munding of Oklahoma City; three sisters-in-law; and 16 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Linus Aloysius and Ruth Alice (Westerheide) Munding; a sister, Linda Munding; and four brothers, Paul, John, Edward, and Linus Munding.

In addition, a special thank you goes to his friends at Senior Star and Thomas Place Apartments in Iowa, where he resided, and to his special friend and caregiver, Ann (Trainor) Waldon.

Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.
