Michael Lee Strait age 79 died on July 13, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. Michael was born on September16, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Guy Morgan Morehouse and Elizabeth Jane Davis. He graduated from Westbury High School in Houston, class of 1964 then furthered his education obtaining advanced degrees in Education from University of Houston. He began his career in Aldine I.S.D. where he worked as teacher, counselor, and administrator for over thirty years before moving to Spring Branch I.S.D in Houston as high school

counselor. His career as an educator spanned more than forty years. He also worked in retail at the J.C. Penney Company for more than fifty years. On April12, 1975 he married Susan Briggs and they made their home in Houston, Texas. Michael was deeply involved in education and helping students develop and achieve their highest goals. He enjoyed this work very much. Michael enjoyed his family, his pets, movies, travel, and playing bridge. He especially enjoyed attending the activities of his grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as kind, loving and hard working man who was deeply devoted to God and his family. He is survived by Susan, his wife of fifty-one years, daughter Sarah Jane Strait, grandchildren Carson Cheshier and Caroline Cheshier, his sister Marsha Miller, niece Melissa Miller Robinette, and nephew Kenneth Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 1 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
