Mildred L. Haubert Murphy, entered eternal life on January 8, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1929 to Martha and Henry J. Haubert in Sapulpa, OK. She greatly loved her siblings Loretta, Paul, Catherine, James, Mike, Mary, Florence and Helen. They attended Holy Family School in grades 1-12. Milly graduated Class of 1947. Nieces Beverly and Anita were companions, just a few years younger. The girls had fun dressing up their kittens in the doll clothes Milly sewed. Milly enjoyed skating on Pretty Water Lake, roller skating and going to Crystal City amusement park, and swimming at Dixieland and Newblock Park. Milly married Francis Angus Murphy in 1949. They made their home in Tulsa and welcomed Martha, Mary Lou, and Judy before moving to Shawnee, OK where Bill, Janice, Betty and Nancy were born. Milly and Francis enjoyed their church and neighbors in Shawnee.
With a move back to Tulsa and a job at American Airlines, Joyce and John completed the big family they hoped for. Christ the King Parish and Marquette School were a big part of their lives and volunteerism: Scouts, Home and School, "Dust Busters", Over 50's, RCIA, Bible study and Meals on Wheels. Later, Milly served several years as PTA President for Central High School.
In addition to raising a large family, Milly enjoyed arranging garden flowers, celebrating holidays, creating crafts, baking, and cake decorating. Panoramic sugar eggs and homemade cream puffs were her specialties. Most nights, the family dinner table was set with a cloth, candles and flowers. She planned memory-making days with her grandchildren-31 of them! Milly and Francis loved to fly AA-to San Diego, Cincinnati, Hawaii, Washington D.C., Ireland, Scotland and Peru.
It would be rare to meet a more thoughtful person, selfless parent or devoted friend and neighbor than Milly. She was an advocate not only for her own family, but extended family, friends, and individuals in need. She was calm in an emergency, smart, strong, and capable.
She is survived by her loving family, Martha & Rob Lamm, Judy Givens, Bill & Jolene Murphy, Janice Murphy, Betty & Joe O'Connor, Nancy McMillan, Joyce & Jim Powers, John & Shannon Murphy, and many dear extended family members. Her 36th great-grandchild was born just as Milly reached her eternal life.
Memorial contributions may be made in Milly's honor to her favorite charities, Parish of Christ the King and Catholic Charities
