Monte Louise Moellers

Monte Louise Moellers passed away unexpectedly at home Monday, March 7, 2011, at the age of 79. She was active until the end, having run errands with her good friend, Lois Grummer, earlier in the day. She was a very social person, loved playing bridge, and was good at it. She grew up in Ft Smith, Arkansas, and met the love of her life, Frank Moellers, in grade school. They married after college, lived in Tulsa and Kansas City, before settling down and raising six children in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Family memories were made houseboating on Grand Lake, then later developing a family compound for all to enjoy.

The family grew up in the Church of the Madalene, which Monte was currently a member of.

Monte was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in March of 1986, and recently her oldest daughter, Paula. She is survived by sons and daughters-in law Jeff and Tracy Moellers, Steve and Terri Moellers, Greg and Tricia Moellers, daughters Linda Easley, Julia Colson and son-in-law, Michael Colson. Her younger sister, Dianne Martin, and son, Bryan, and family also grieve her loss. Monte is survived by 16 grandchildren.

Monte spent the last several years with daughter Linda and her four beautiful daughters Amanda, Lauren, Megan and Melissa Easley. Special memories were made, and Monte was kept young by the experience. Visitation 3:00-5:00pm Thursday, March 10, 2011 followed by a Rosary at 5:00pm both at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held 2:00pm Friday, March 11, 2011 at Church of the Madalene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities, 739 N. Denver Ave., Tulsa, OK 74106.
