Nancy Atkinson Barnett, 88, went to rest in the arms of Jesus on June 3, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nancy(Sis) was born on October 15, 1934 to the parents of Buford Daniel Atkinson and Mary Elizabeth Atkinson. She attended school in Madison, Alabama during her primary years but graduated from Huntsville High School with the Class of '52. She was a member of the Junior Grace Club and also a varsity cheerleader.

She furthered her education by obtaining a degree in elementary education from Auburn University. While at Auburn, she was a member of the AOII sorority. Nancy made her home in Huntsville, Alabama where she raised her family and was a teacher at Jones Valley Elementary school. She was a member of the Alabama Federation of Republican Women. Nancy was an active member at Trinity United Methodist Church for many years and also Faith Chapel.

She is survived by her son, James Buford Barnett(Kristin), daughter, Karen Lynne Fouch (Bob), and son Michael Gregory Barnett. She had seven grandchildren; Rob Fouch, Frazier Barnett, Melissa Hirshburg, Meghan Barnett, Jon Fouch, Quinn McKellar, and Catherine Gravenmier. She had seventeen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father and two brothers, Dan Atkinson and John Paul Atkinson.

The memorial service is scheduled for 11am on Tuesday, June 27th at Southwood Colonial Chapel, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
