Nancy Lynn Fischbein passed away at 2:40 a.m. Sat. Sept. 3, 2016 at home in Lake Forest, FL after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was born September 17, 1941 in Hillsboro, IL to Helen and Louis Nicolotti. She graduated from Witt High School, Witt, IL in 1959 and attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL. Nancy married William Rice in 1962 and lived in Central Illinois until they moved to Tulsa in 1984. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen & Louis Nicolotti, and her husband William Rice and late husband Carl Fischbein. She is survived by brother, James Nicolotti of Tulsa, OK her three children and their spouses; Susan & Terrence Smithson of Nashville, TN, Sandra Rice & Patty Pyle of Lake Forest, FL and Jon & Lisa Rice of League City, TX; grandchildren Lyndsey Smith, Lucas Smith, Kaylnn Rice, Addison Rice, and Greyson Rice and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
In addition to being a wonderful mother to her 3 children, Nancy worked as an early childhood educator and medical office administrator for over 40 years. Over the years she was an active member of St. Bernard's and St. Thomas Moore Parishs in Tulsa, OK and was an active member of Al-Anon in the Tulsa area. Nancy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, brother, nieces, nephews and friends. She enjoyed hosting and cooking for others, socializing with friends and traveling, especially in the Motorhome.
Nancy will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. We find comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and now rests eternally in peace.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, Tulsa, OK. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday September 9, 2016 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church. Those who wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please send to St. Bernard's of Clairvaux Church.
