Obituary

Nancy Peacock Mackey went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 22, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nancy was born on May 17, 1939 in Tulsa and was the only child of the late Doris and Ralph Peacock. Nancy was the loving wife of Dr. Robert W. Mackey who preceded her in death and was the proud mother of Ralph Edward Mackey and Whitney Mackey Eschenheimer and husband Nick Eschenheimer, and grandmother to Andrew and Luke Eschenheimer, all of Tulsa. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Nancy attended Holland Hall School and was a graduate of Central High School. She also attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. She met and married Bob and worked as a medical research assistant at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She often reminisced that upon first laying eyes on her from across a crowded reception, Bob told his twin brother "That's the girl I'm going to marry."

Nancy was a member of the Junior League of Tulsa and a board member of the March of Dimes for many years. She was a child advocate for adoption especially in regard to Native American adoptions. Together with her husband, they worked to place many children in loving homes. She assisted in starting a foster care review board in Tulsa. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Saint Mary and Southern Hills Country Club. Nancy enjoyed working with her father at Ralph Peacock Investments and also served as a sales associate for Joe Marina Motors and Carlisle. For many years she was a valued volunteer to many Tulsa schools and organizations. In their later years, Nancy and Bob enjoyed traveling with their lifelong friends, special times on Grand Lake and their neighbors at Bolewood Place. Nancy was a fun-loving energetic natural entertainer hosting dinners and parties for family and friends throughout her life. She was always eager to volunteer to host and celebrate any birthday, engagement or graduation. Her door and her heart were always open.

A Rosary honoring Nancy will be held at Fitzgerald's Ivy Chapel on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of Saint Mary on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.
