Obituary

Nancy Jean Vokoun went to Heaven on March 31, 2022. She was 80 years old. Nancy was born on February 2,1942 to Frances and John Duvall. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Vokoun (2001), brother, John M. Duvall (2016), mother, Frances Duvall (2017) and father, Johnnie Burl Duvall, Sr (1981). She was a beloved mother to Kimberly (Gary) Mathis, Christopher Vokoun, Tamara (John) Redmond, Julie (Christopher) Burton, Aaron (Jessica) Vokoun. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Cindy Duvall and brother, Rick Duvall as well as her grandchildren (Ben, Caleb (Kayla), Julia, Austin, Caitlin (Tom), Lucy (Nathan), Nick, William, Braden, Ethan, Nolan, River) and great grandchildren (Murphy and Rae), and brother-in-Law Edward M (Carolyn) Vokoun.
Nancy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942 and attended several schools including Springdale Elementary School, Edison High School, University of Tulsa, and Rhema Bible College. Nancy's passions were her love for God, family, music, and flowers. Her career centered around raising five children, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was employed by Shekinah Glory Ministries for 30 years, working with her sister Cindy Duvall, and Lois and Ray Taucher and Shellie Love Fleming. She generously supported several ministries including Shekinah Glory Ministries, David Ingles, Oasis Network, Grace Fellowship, International Gospel Center, John G. Lake, Keith Moore, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, and Rhema Bible Training Center.

Over the years she performed with many church choirs in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana, as well as musical theater shows, including Hello Dolly. Not only did she have a beautiful singing voice, but she also had great style and expressed her colorful personality through her bright clothing and jewelry. She loved helping decorate for parties and took great delight in sharing this passion with family and friends. She was always quick to volunteer when there was a need, whether it be for ministries, or helping her children and grandchildren with moving, garage sales or decorating for parties. She was always there when you needed her.

Nancy was also passionate about her calling in life to share God's love with everyone she encountered. Her faith in God never wavered. If you needed prayer, she was the first person you would call, and she always offered words of encouragement. She knew no stranger in life and helped anyone in need. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and in her daily devotion to God. She wanted to make sure her children and grandchildren knew Jesus, knew God's Word, and put Him first before anything else. She spent her final years living with her children and later in an apartment in Tulsa, OK where she enjoyed her time with God, morning walks, trips to Starbucks and time with family and friends. She had a giving heart and would always give you whatever she had. She is remembered by everyone who knew her for her laugh, generosity, warmth, love, and dedication to share God's love. Following the Funeral, at Rhema Bible Church Chapel, a graveside will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
