Naomi Pearl Black departed this world in Tulsa, Ok to join her creator on August 14, 2019. She was born March 22, 1929 in Reeds Spring, MO to Earl L. & Alta I. Johnston. She attended school in Aurora, MO where she met and married the love of her life, Glendon Edward Black on June 2, 1946. They lived the majority of their lives in the Miami, OK area where together they raised their five children.
She is survived by three children: Gary Black and his wife Donna of Bixby, OK; Gerald Black of Miami, OK; Gloria Moore and her husband Jon of Tulsa, OK. Other survivors include son-in-law, Tim Corntassel of Quapaw, OK; six grandsons, Michael Black, Gary Drake Jr. (spouse Holly), Douglas Black (spouse Tonya), Shawn Corntassel, Christopher Corntassel (spouse Brittany), Joshua Corntassel (spouse Brandilyn), Justin Neal; & numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister- JoAnne Johnston (circa 1932); two brothers - Richard A. Johnston (1/3/1996) and Lee L. Johnston (4/21/2004); her husband, Glendon E. Black (11/14/1987); two daughters - Glenda L. Neal (6/24/2015) and Gayle A. Corntassel (8/9/2016); and son-in-law, Wayne Neal (12/7/2007).
She lived a long fruitful life and had anxiously been awaiting her reunion with Glendon, her two daughters, and joyously with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was loved by many and will be missed by all, but hallelujah, she is home at last. According to her wishes, a family graveside service will be held at Spring River Cemetery near Verona, MO. during September.
