Natalie Ann Baine, 20, of Roswell, GA, spent the final days of her life cheering on her beloved Crimson Tide to the BCS Championship. She died Jan. 11, 2013 as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident traveling home from Miami to the University of Alabama.
Natalie was an honor student in her junior year at the University of Alabama. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Natalie was recently accepted to study abroad in her major of Accounting, and had plans to attend graduate school.
Natalies's love of sports started at a very early age. She loved being with her daddy on the sidelines of Union football games cheering on her brother, Nathan, and cousins while they played one of her favorite sports. Her love of sports was second only to her family and friends.
Natalie graduated from Roswell High School in 2010. She started playing basketball at age 5, and eventually became a 4 year starter on the varsity team. As a sign of her physical and mental toughness, Natalie was the all-time leader in consecutive starts at Roswell with 111, and was point guard on the first regional championship team in 30 years. She was also proud to be a member of the Georgia Hoopstars Elite Basketball team.
Always quick with a smile, Natalie knew no strangers and was always on an adventure. She spent countless weekends and summers at Grand Lake with her Tulsa family. Her energy, enthusiasm, and love of life were felt by everyone that had the good fortune of meeting her.
Even in death, Natalie continues to spread her unselfish kindness. Natalie, an organ donor, has given the "gift of life" to a 13 year old girl who received her heart, a middle age man who received her liver, and her two kidneys found a 17 year old female and a 28 year old male.
She is preceded in death by her fraternal grandfather, Robert "Tony" Baine, and her cousin Spencer McIllwain and maternal grandmother, Margaret Vance.
She is survived by her loving family - Father, Matt Baine and Stepmother Delpha Pitts of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mother, Janet (Vance) Korowitz and Stepfather, Bill Korowitz, Roswell, GA; brother Nathan Baine, and sisters Erica, Lauren and Lexi Korowitz, all of Roswell, GA; sisters Jessie Pitts and Lauren Pitts, both of Tulsa, OK; and Fraternal Grandmother Dorothy Baine and Maternal Grandfather James Vance, and Grandmother Ann Korowitz.
